Sensata Technologies is a company with 100 years history and is one of the leading global suppliers of sensors, electric protection, controllers and power supply controllers. The company has plants and business centers on three continents. Sensata's products improve safety, efficiency and comfort of millions of people every day through applications in different industries like automotive, air, military industry, heavy vehicles off road, heating and acclimatization, information technology, telecommunications and sea applications.

The company's HQ is in USA (Attleboro, MA) and has production facilities and business centers in 13 countries and has more than 20 000 people personnel. Its plants are situated in Mexico, China, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Korea, USA, Brazil and Ireland. The company has trade representatives and engineering hubs all over the world. Sensata Technologies has a large portfolio with more than 17 000 unique products implemented in more than 1,4 billion devices per year. Sensata Technologies Bulgaria is the third largest Sensata Technologies location worldwide with more than 3000 employees coming after Mexico and China, i.e. the largest in Europe.

The company entered the Bulgarian market in 2011 when Sensata Technologies acquired the Belgium company Sensor Nite and its Botevgrad production. In 2012 a Business Center in Sofia is opened and in 2016 the newest factory opens in Plovdiv. Also in Sofia the largest test laboratory Sensata, which the company owns globally was opened in 2017.

In just a few years Sensata developed successfully the Botevgrad plant and for that reason opened a new second plant in Plovdiv. Both plants are specialized in production of high-tech mechatronics mainly for automotive industry.
